2 Corinthians

Chapter 3

1 DO we begin again to commend our selves? Or do we need, as some other people, epistles of commendation concerning us written to you, or that you should write commending us?

2 You are our epistle written in our hearts, well-known and read by all men:

3 For you are known to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the spirit of the Living God; not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of the living heart.

4 Such is the trust that we have through Christ toward God.

5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves; but our strength comes from God,

6 Who has made us worthy to be ministers of the new covenant; not of the letter, but the Spirit: for the letter of the law punishes with death, but the Spirit gives life.

7 Now if the ministration of death, as contained in the letter of the law and engraved on stones, was so glorious that the children of Israel could not look at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance; which glory was not lasting:

8 Why then shall not the ministration of the Spirit be more glorious?

9 For if there be glory in the ministration of condemnation, much more will the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

10 Just as that which was not glorious became glorified, in comparison with that, this excels in glory.

11 For if that which was not lasting was glorious, much more glorious will that be which endures.

12 Seeing therefore that we have such hope, we conduct ourselves bravely:

13 And not as Moses who put a veil over his face, so that the children of Israel might not look upon the fulness of the glory which was not lasting:

14 But their minds were blinded: for to this day, when the Old Testament is read, the same veil rests over them, and it is not known to them that the veil has been removed through Christ.

15 But even unto this day, whenever the en_lbp_books of Moses are read, the veil is upon their hearts.

16 Nevertheless whenever a man turns to the LORD, the veil is taken away.

17 Now the LORD is that very Spirit: and where the Spirit of the LORD is, there is liberty.

18 But we all, with open faces, see as in a mirror the glory of the LORD, and we shall be transformed into the same likeness, from one glory to another, just as the Spirit comes from the LORD.

Глава 3

1 Не начинаем ли мы снова сами себя расхваливать? Или же нам нужны письма к вам или от вас, как это делают другие? Разумеется, нет!

2 Вы и есть наше письмо, написанное в наших сердцах, известное всем и прочитанное всеми.

3 Вы сами являетесь доказательством того, что вы — письмо Христово, написанное не чернилами, а Духом Бога живого, высеченное не на каменных скрижалях, а в человеческих сердцах.

4 Благодаря Христу мы можем с уверенностью утверждать это перед Богом.

5 Я не утверждаю, что мы своими силами можем творить добро, — это Бог даёт нам такую способность.

6 Он сделал нас исполнителями нового соглашения со Своим народом, соглашения, основанного не на письменном законе, а на Духе, так как письменный закон убивает, Дух же — даёт жизнь.

7 Если соглашение, принесшее смерть (закон, высеченный на камне), было так славно, что народ Израиля не мог смотреть в лицо Моисею, сиявшее этой славой, хотя такая слава и затмевается позднее,

8 то как же соглашение Духа, дарующего жизнь, не будет ещё более славным?

9 И если старое соглашение, осуждавшее людей в их грехе, было славным, то насколько же более славно соглашение, оправдывающее людей перед Богом.

10 Старое соглашение было исполнено славы, однако оно затмевается славой нового соглашения, которое превосходит в величии славу старого соглашения.

11 И если же то соглашение, которому было суждено потерять свою силу, — славно, тогда вечное соглашение ещё более славно.

12 Так как у нас есть надежда на это, мы смелы в своих речах

13 и не уподобляемся Моисею, который закрывал своё лицо пеленой, чтобы не видел народ Израиля угасание проходящей славы.

14 Однако умы израильтян были ослеплены, так как и до сегодняшнего дня при чтении закона эта пелена, которая может быть поднята только через Христа, по-прежнему скрывает от них значение Писаний.

15 И по сей день, когда эти люди читают Закон Моисея, пелена окутывает их разум.

16 Когда же человек обращается к Господу, эта пелена спадает.

17 Господь же, о Котором я говорю, — это Дух, где же Дух Господний, там и свобода.

18 Но все мы с незакрытыми лицами, словно в зеркале видя славу Господнюю, принимаем подобие Его в возрастающей славе Его, и это преображение от Господа, то есть от Духа.

7 Если соглашение, принесшее смерть (закон, высеченный на камне), было так славно, что народ Израиля не мог смотреть в лицо Моисею, сиявшее этой славой, хотя такая слава и затмевается позднее,

8 Why then shall not the ministration of the Spirit be more glorious?

8 то как же соглашение Духа, дарующего жизнь, не будет ещё более славным?

9 For if there be glory in the ministration of condemnation, much more will the ministration of righteousness exceed in glory.

9 И если старое соглашение, осуждавшее людей в их грехе, было славным, то насколько же более славно соглашение, оправдывающее людей перед Богом.

10 Just as that which was not glorious became glorified, in comparison with that, this excels in glory.

10 Старое соглашение было исполнено славы, однако оно затмевается славой нового соглашения, которое превосходит в величии славу старого соглашения.

11 For if that which was not lasting was glorious, much more glorious will that be which endures.

11 И если же то соглашение, которому было суждено потерять свою силу, — славно, тогда вечное соглашение ещё более славно.

12 Seeing therefore that we have such hope, we conduct ourselves bravely:
